Collect the following:
- Masking Tape
- Decal
- Squeegee (credit card works great)
- Tape Measure
- Window Cleaner/Water
Stick Figure Families are simple to apply to most surfaces. They will arrive on a thick, sturdy paper backing and covered with a semi transparent transfer tape. The stickers have been rolled for packaging and will need to be smoothed with your squeegee before application.
Wash the surface of the area where you will be applying the stickers to (outside of car window) with window cleaner and rinse with water to remove residual chemicals. Let dry.
Do not apply to a surface that has been in direct sun. Air bubbles can be caused by the surface being too hot when the decal is applied. Temperature should be at least 10 degrees Celsius for cold weather application.
Mark and place where your decal will be applied. Create a masking tape hinge by taping the top of the decal to the window. Lift the decal up and carefully remove the backing from the decal. If you are having problems, lay the decal back down and re-squeegee the decal to adhere the vinyl to the transfer tape. When the backing is removed, carefully lay the decal back down onto the window, smoothing out any wrinkles with your hands.
Working from the center out – use your squeegee to firmly adhere the decal and transfer tape to the window. Use firm, overlapping strokes.
Starting from one short edge, carefully peel off the transfer tape. Go slowly and make sure the vinyl figures are sticking to the window. If you are having problems, re-squeegee the decal. Also, wetting the transfer tape will help remove it.
Press the decal with your fingers to make sure it is well attached.
Tips:
- We do not recommended that the decal be placed on windows that roll up and down or near wipers in the front or back.
- Don’t scrape your decal with your snow/ice brush.
- Be careful when washing to prevent accidental removal by excess water pressure. Vinyl will scratch if dirt is scrubbed over it.
